Three homes leave the list, one into escrow
Newark's buyable list of houses and townhomes slipped to 66 from 69 on Friday. One house went under contract, taking the under contract count to 27, and another home that was newly listed Friday no longer shows in today's MLS export. One home still carries the newly listed flag.
Two sellers cut their prices
Two sellers lowered their asking prices. One of those price changes carries a status that takes the home off the buyable count for now, which accounts for the third home leaving the list.
What 7.43% costs on a Newark home
On Newark's median asking price of $1,299,000 with 20% down, the loan is $1,039,200, still inside the $1,249,125 high balance conforming limit for Alameda County. Principal and interest comes to $7,216 a month at 7.43%, against $6,224 at 5.99%, the 52 week low. That is $992 more every month for the same home.
