Newark Daily Brief: The List Moves Again, to 70 Homes

Mortgage rates eased a touch this morning. Mortgage News Daily has the 30 year at 7.17%, down 0.02, and the 15 year unchanged at 6.83%. The 10 year Treasury closed Monday at 4.96%.

The list moves again

After three straight days at the same 69 homes, Newark's buyable list of houses and townhomes moved to 70 this morning. The one addition is a house that came back on the market. Nothing left the list and no prices changed.

The rest of the movement was labels. Four houses aged out of newly listed after a week on the market, and one home went from coming soon to active. That is why newly listed fell from 7 to 3 while active rose from 52 to 57.

Three homes carry the newly listed flag this morning, all of them four bedroom houses, and nine homes are marked coming soon.

Under contract slipped to 27 from 29, and it has drifted down from 31 last Wednesday. The median days on market rose to 26 from 25, and 13 of the 70 have been available 60 days or longer, up from 12. Townhomes remain the lower rung: the 11 on the list carry a median of $1,100,000 against $1,395,000 for the 59 houses, and 8 homes are asking under a million.
